RA Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan made a note:

According to the draft law of the Republic of Armenia on Higher Education and Science, each university is entitled to make the subjects "Armenian Language", "Armenian Literature" and "Armenian History" compulsory.

In response to the RA Law on Higher Education and Science in the Working Version submitted by the RA Ministry of Education and Science, there are complaints and complaints regarding the proposal to remove the subjects "Armenian Language", "Armenian Literature" and "Armenian History" from the list of compulsory subjects taught in universities. .

Although no comments or suggestions have been received from the higher education institutions on the draft law submitted for discussion, the draft law gives wider autonomy to the universities to determine the content of the educational and scientific programs. Therefore, after the adoption of the project, each university scientific council can decide that these subjects must be taught in all faculties.

At the same time, the draft principles of the project clearly state the priority of Armenology research, training specialists for the development of Armenology for the Diaspora and spreading the recognition of Armenian cultural heritage, the rooting of national identity and universal values.

Provision of basic funding to HEIs for the maintenance and development of scientific infrastructures of national value.

Moreover, in order to be admitted to any university in the RA, citizens of the Republic of Armenia, regardless of their chosen profession, are required to take a unified Armenian language exam.

Thus, the draft law not only does not diminish the role of Armenian and patriotism, but, on the contrary, stipulates the sowing of these important values and the training of relevant specialists. "
